In fact, after writing here, I'm going to start working on the Holga 135 D. It'll be modeled after the Rollei xf using a micro 4/3's system.

I think adding the ability to do multiple exposures is a great one but there is no need for an extra knob cluttering the design.

There is also no need for a "professional" grade lens. That's the point of a camera like this in the first place.

Keep the e-ink counter but there should be a mini-usb or some hidden connection to upload photos from the camera (sorry if I missed that part of the design but I didn't see one anywhere).

Is it possible for the camera housing to have similar light leaks or other imperfections and would that alter the photos at any point other than when the image is taken? Using in camera software based filters seems like cheating somehow.

Great concept and the design is breath taking. If you start a kickstarter campaign I would definitely donate.

Maybe make the SDXC card where the cameras operating system and filters are stored. This way I can pull out my card and use it in someone else's camera, and their camera will behave like mine (have the OS I like to use, the settings the way I like it, the filters I've purchased/made, etc). Then there doesn't have to be any internal memory making manufacturing cheaper. Also it would make the system easy to upgrade.

Strongly consider the idea of making the sensor removable/upgradeable.

Consider a built in battery (like what apple has done. If the OS is on the SD card, and the image sensor and processor are in the same removable/upgradable "area", then the only thing left that would exist in the body with everything taken away (the top is removable, the sensor CPU system is removable, storage is removable) is the body/battery. People can buy a new body/battery and send in the old one for recycling. There's really no reason to go with double A's if you use a USB port to charge the battery (make data readable through the port only if it's a cheap enough thing to do).

The 4/3 format is an open source format already. I understand everyone wants FF, but maybe a 4/3 version (think Holga 35mm v.s. Holga 120 size) could be made pocketable (at least the body)? I also like the art filters that Olympus includes in their micro 4/3 Pen line. Maybe software filters that do cross processing, or the "red" look (when you shoot through the wrong side of the film), maybe a half frame mode, and maybe a way to shoot at 4 frames per second to make LomoKino styled digital movies? Okay, maybe I'm ruining it. Anyway, just some thoughts.

I would buy this camera in an instant, I feel that holga cameras show a simpler and more real side of everyday life not found in digital photography and having a digital camera that conveys the same feeling would be astounding!
